History Repeats Itself

Sad, very sad indeed! History repeats itself. In China the doctrine of a pre-tribulation rapture was also taught, and when persecution and tribulation came there was a great falling away. The church leaders who lived through it were remorseful that they had taught this doctrine. Rather they wished they taught that all those who lived godly lives in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. Or what Jesus taught in John 16:33 “These things have I spoken to you that in Me, you may have peace. In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer I have overcome the world.” But as a result of preaching this pre-trib doctrine the Chinese church experienced a “great falling away.” Jesus tells us in the parable of the sower in Mark 4:17 about how when persecution and tribulation come there is a falling away. The greater the tribulation the greater the falling away. It is extremely sad that many people confuse the great tribulation with the wrath of God. Jesus and Paul always referred to tribulation as a form of persecution for the christian.

The pre-trib doctrine is always taught by man, and it has man’s origin. Jesus and Paul continually warn us to be aware that “no man deceive you” concerning this teaching. The teaching is built on assumptions and “mystery”. Of course, it is a very desirably teaching, because it escapes persecution. This is why it is so well received. Naturally, who wants to have their flesh tortured in any way? You will also find that those who embrace this teaching usually enjoy a life of pleasure. Paul tells us that in the last days there will be those who love themselves, and love pleasure, etc.2 Tim. 3.

So often you hear from the pre-triber, “Are you ready?” I now understand what they mean, but to me that question means; do you have the communion with Christ to partake in the brokenness of what communion is all about… persecution. However, to a pre-triber the question is referring to righteous living. The Word of God tells us that all those who will live godly lives in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. Unfortunately to a pre-triber this does not compute: Godliness cannot be separated from persecution, yet they think you can have godliness without persecution. That is contrary to the Word. When persecution hit China denominations ceased and unity replaced them. The fire of persecution purified the church of China and righteousness prevailed. The reason righteousness is important is because we all understand the Christ is returning for a bride who has made herself ready, meaning pure and righteous.

Persecution and tribulation is now consuming the world and will soon consume the nations who have long experienced religious freedom. With this persecution will come a great falling away as Jesus promised, because of false doctrines. The devil has used the pre-trib doctrine to his benefit in China, and he will use it again in the West.

In Matthew 24 the disciples asked Jesus plainly when he would come and what would be the signs of His coming. He answered them plainly. He told them that after the great tribulation he would come in the clouds and his angels would gather His own from all over the Earth. He then speaks of Heaven and Earth passing away. 2Peter 3:10 also tells us that at the time of “the thief in the night” and heaven and earth will pass away with a great noise. Obviously no 7 years afterwards of anti-christ reign. Unfortunately, the pre-trib belief needs to insert a rapture somewhere before the “thief in the night” and Jesus coming in the clouds. Sadly they twist something in there to make it work for them. This also takes place in Rev. 4, a serious assumption that when John has a heavenly experience the assumption is that that is the rapture. 2 Pet. 3 continues in vs. 16 to speak of the pre-trib doctrine.

Many, including myself, have once taught the pre-trib lie, because that was what was taught us. Once you study it for yourself, knowing that God has warned us of the trap of deception around this doctrine, “Let no man deceive you”, you don’t come up with the pre-trib belief unless you are looking for a way out. Always you will find that those who believe the pre-trib doctrine had it passed down to them by man. Always, when you ask the hard questions, they will accuse you of just wanting to argue, and refer you to someone else, because they are not ready in season or out to answer. They do not need to study to show themselves approved workmen in this area, because they do not plan on being here to experience this era of time. Sad! When they find that they are wrong, and  the multitudes they are responsible for falling away. If I am wrong, YIPPEE!, nothing lost!
