So often I hear we need to get ready. By this people are referring to cleaning up our lives and becoming godly, because we could get raptured at any moment. However, 2 Tim. 3:12 tells us that all those who live godly lives in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. If that is so and Jesus is coming for a bride who has made herself ready, how can she make herself ready without persecution and tribulation?
The scripture always says when the rapture will happen… here in 2 Pet. 3:10 it is when the heaven pass away with a great noise.
But the Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the Earth and the works that are in it will be burnt up. 2 Peter 3:10 NKJV
Matt. 24: 29-31 it’s immediately after the tribulation. 1 Cor. 15:51 it’s at the last trump. 1 Thess. 5:3, “..’peace and safety,’ then sudden destruction…” Sudden destruction is undeniably one in the same as the others scriptures… Matt. 24: 29 & 35. Mark 13:24-27, Luke 21: 25-27, Rev. 6:12-17, Rev. 16:15+ The thief in the night scenario is accompanied with sudden destruction. If you study them out you will not be able to separate the catastrophic, earth destroying, event of Christ’s return from any and all of the thief in the night, scriptures. Of course, if the heavens and Earth is destroyed, then there is no longer 7 yrs of existence thereafter.
In order have a feel for the political surrounding one must be current on world events. These events clearly point to wars and rumors of wars, and as we know this signifies the beginning of sorrows. The opposite feeling the world is embracing is one of, “peace and safety.” We know that In this environment of “peace and safety” our Savior will return 1 Thess. 5:3. This also correlates with the time of “a thief in the night” 1 Thess. 5:2. Nobody says peace and safety before the battle, but after the battle is over. Immediately after the tribulation of those days… you will see Jesus return… and gather His elect, Matt.24:29-31.
